Ariana Grande‘s fans are growing convinced that she’s working with Madonna, after the popstar shared a photo of the pair on social media.
The singer is finishing up her new album, Sweetener, which is set to be released on August 17, and fans were quick to hope that a Madonna collaboration will be on the album.
A picture posted by Ariana Grande on her Twitter account on Wednesday (July 11) excited her followers and also sparked curiosity as to why it was posted now, and whether the photo was taken recently or it is from a prior event.

The singer’s snap showed her visible emotion upon meeting the music icon. The caption on the picture read “thank you @madonna… u know why.” She also included an a heart emoji and an emoji of a bridge. This emoji the “No Tears Left to Cry” hitmaker has used often when talking about new music.
This is not the first time the two singers have met, as Ariana joined Madonna onstage in Miami during Madonna’s performance of “Unapologetic B—h” on the Rebel Heart Tour. She joined Madonna in Miami again at her 2016 Art Basel charity event. Grande has consistently cited the Queen of Pop as an inspiration and mentor.
